GFS Model Validation (?)
This section takes model predictions from the past 8 days (starting 2 days ago) and verifies them against the observation. It uses a 24 hour precipitation total "Tot" for each 00Z initialization time for the same common valid time (daily precip. total for 2 days ago) and also the CMORPH daily precip. total "Obs" for 2 days ago so that you can see the relative improvement in the forecasts as they become more recent.
