Forecasts using COLA AGCM v2.2.6 T63L18 - The most recent reference for the COLA model is: Schneider, E. K., 2001: The causes of differences between equatorial Pacific SST simulations of two coupled ocean-atmosphere general circulation models. J. Climate, 15, 449-469. - Each month, a ten member forecast ensemble is initialized from a continuing ten member AMIP style run begun December 1981. The forecast is run out to seven months in the future. - A sea surface temperature forecast is received monthly from IRI, and is used as a boundary condition for the AGCM forecast. - Monthly mean forecast data is kept on the GrADS DOS Server (GDS) at: http://cola8.iges.org:9191/dods/fcst_v226 - Subdirectories refer to the month the forecast is initiated. - Data sstiri = IRI SST forecast tcas = COLA approximation of two meter temperature tppt = total precipitation slpr = sea level pressure t850 = 850 hPa temperature u850 = 850 hPa zonal wind v850 = 850 hPa zonal wind u200 = 200 hPa zonal wind v200 = 200 hPa meridional wind z200 = 200 hPa geopotential height z500 = 500 hPa geopotential height z700 = 700 hPa geopotential height - Each forecast data set has ten levels, corresponding to the ten forecast members. - COLA AGCM monthly mean climatologies are from the ten member AMIP-style run, 1982 - 2002. Details are unknown for the IRI SST climatology.
