Waternet Mission:

• NASA Strategic Goal 3 develops a balanced program of science and aeronautics, including meeting four goals, one of which includes "the study of Earth from sapce to advance scientific understanding and meet societal needs (the mission of the Earth Science Division)."
• Earth Science conducts the missions, does the research and applications, and makes the resulting data available.
• Applied Sciences extends the benefits of NASA Earth Science across a broad range of societal needs (National Applications), in order to demonstrate new decision support tools for resource managers and policy makers for potential operational use. It also provides a strong interface to the external community.
